Το «Sound of Shanghai» γεννιέται από ένα νευρολογικό ίχνος: εγκεφαλικά κύματα που καταγράφηκαν ανάμεσα στην πολυεπίπεδη συνύπαρξη της δυναστικής μνήμης, της αστικής πυκνότητας και της τεχνολογικής επιτάχυνσης. Αυτές οι νευρικές ώσεις μετατρέπονται σε ηχητική ύλη, όπου η σκέψη γίνεται συχνότητα και η συχνότητα εικόνα.

As a preeminent global axis where the momentum of the future encounters the depths of antiquity, Shanghai emerges as a defining laboratory of the human spirit. “Sound of Shanghai” originates from a neurological trace: brainwaves recorded amidst the city’s layered coexistence of dynastic memory, urban density, ritual practice, and technological acceleration. These neural impulses are transformed into raw sonic material, where thought becomes frequency and frequency unfolds into image.

Moving beyond the constraints of a conventional documentary, the work inhabits its own cinematic territory — a sensory “aria” where sound functions as the primary narrative engine. Through the participation of more than 250 performers, the project integrates orchestral composition, immersive spatial acoustics, and choreography into a unified perceptual environment, reorganizing the metropolis into a contemporary urban opera.
